Many of these animals were strays and some have been in the shelter for months or years. These cats grow accustomed to living in cages and eventually feel safe there. You must be PATIENT and allow your new pet TIME to acclimate to his/her new surroundings. If you have other pets in your household, be sure to introduce them slowly, over a period of days, weeks, and sometimes months. If you have a cage, please set it up and allow your new pet to sleep there if he/she wishes. Using common sense, love, patience and by allowing them all the time he/she needs, you will have a wonderful addition to your home and family.

I understand that typically the animals available for adoption from the shelter lack a complete history, and the shelter cannot guarantee health or personality of any animal adopted from the facility. *
I understand that pets are a lifetime commitment and that even though my life, location, job, housing etc. may change, it is my intention to make my pet a part of that change. However, if I am no longer able to care for this pet, I will contact Carbon County Friends of Animals to return the feline to the adoption program. The adoption fee is nonrefundable.
I understand that the shelter intends to place each animal in an appropriate home and, therefore, reserves the right to refuse adoption to any potential adopter at any time during the process. *

I authorize any and all verifications of statements made in the application, and I understand that Carbon County Friends of Animals has the right to deny my application at any time during the process. I am fully aware that I am adopting a living creature, and as such there will likely be a period of time that this animal needs to adjust to my home. I also understand that Carbon County Friends of Animals is unable to guarantee the health of the animal.
